Dimension #199 Cosmology & Signs in Nature (Ayat al-Afaq)
Water as the Universal Matrix of Biological Life
Linguistic Root: م-و-ه (Water, fluid origin of cellular cytoplasm and protoplasm)
Core Conceptual Overview
The Qur'an explicitly states that God made every living thing from water.
“...and We made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?”
Deep Dive & Significance
Surah Al-Anbiya declares: 'And We made from water every living thing' (21:30). Modern biology confirms that water is the fundamental solvent of life: cells are mostly water, and no known biological organism can survive or metabolize without it.
Linguistic & Thematic Gem
“Water is the essential foundation without which biological life cannot exist.”
Daily Practical Application
Stay hydrated, be grateful for clean drinking water, and never take access to clean water for granted.
