Proofs of the Prophethood of Muhammad (ﷺ)
The common reservation:
“How do we know Muhammad was truly a Prophet rather than a power-hungry leader or a self-deluded man?”
A forensic psychological and historical investigation leaves only one conclusion:
1. **Impeccable Pre-Revelation Character**: For 40 years before revelation, he was unanimously known as 'Al-Amin' (The Trustworthy) and 'Al-Sadiq' (The Truthful). A man who never lied to humans for 40 years would not suddenly invent a monumental lie about God.
2. **Refusal of Worldly Bribes**: When the Quraysh offered him absolute kingship, endless wealth, and the most beautiful women to abandon his message, he famously replied: 'If they placed the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left hand to abandon this matter, I would not leave it until God makes it triumph or I perish.'
3. **Life of Extreme Simplicity**: At the peak of his political power as ruler of Arabia, he slept on a rough palm-fiber mat that left marks on his side, went months without a cooked fire in his home, and died without leaving a single coin in inheritance.
4. **Foretelling Unlikely Future Events**: He accurately foretold the conquest of Byzantine and Persian empires, the barefoot Bedouins competing in building skyscrapers (Hadith of Jibril), and the widespread spread of Islam to the corners of the Earth.
وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ
“And indeed, you are of a great moral character.”
